WASHINGTON, DC (October 31, 2014) – The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) honored Richard A. Groszkiewicz, MSPA, with the 2014 Educator’s Award on Oct. 29, during the 48th ASPPA Annual Conference at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
Groszkiewicz is a leader in the field of actuarial education. He teaches public seminars (and on-site seminars for actuarial firms) to prepare students for exams given by the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries, and has worked in the pension consulting field since 1974. He has been a speaker at ASPPA meetings, and taught the PPA 2006 workshops with Larry Deutsch, which were sponsored by the ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries (ACOPA) in 2007 and 2008.
Groszkiewicz received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Actuarial Science from Georgia State University in 1974. He received his Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries in 1978, and became an Enrolled Actuary in 1979, and a member of ASPPA in 1996.
Nominations are accepted every year by the Education & Examination Committee for ASPPA’s Educator’s Award. The award recognizes outstanding educators from the ASPPA membership who have made significant contributions to retirement plan education.
