Matrix Financial Solutions Partnership with NAPA and SCS Expands Advisor Education

WASHINGTON (September 24, 2014) — Matrix Financial Solutions (Matrix), a Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:BR) company, along with the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) and SCS Consulting, Inc. (SCS) announced today that more than 100 financial advisor attendees of Matrix’s 2014 Get Connected Conference earned NAPA’s Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC) credential.

The annual conference, held in Keystone, Colorado, provides sales training to advisors who want to increase their retirement plan business. Following the advisors’ completion of a six-month webinar training series was a four-day onsite “boot camp” training led by industry expert Sarah Simoneaux of SCS Consulting.  NAPA administered the proctored examination at the conference, a first for an industry conference, providing attendees with the opportunity to earn their QPFC credential upon completion of the boot camp experience.

“I would like to thank Matrix for sponsoring the educational series as it was a great value-add that will help me in my practice going forward”, said Sarah Baxter of Pinnacle Wealth Management.  “I also want to recognize Sara Simoneaux, one of the top minds and educators in the industry, for her expert training and preparation for the QPFC exam.  I am excited to apply what I learned to my day-to-day operations and bring the NAPA curriculum into my practice. I am proud to have earned the QPFC credential, and look forward to a great association with the NAPA organization.”

Sarah Simoneaux noted, “The program that was put together by Matrix and NAPA was unparalleled in the industry. The combination of industry information provided by NAPA’s QPFC curriculum and the tools to put that knowledge into practice provide advisors with the keys to success in today’s marketplace. The participants in the boot camp also benefitted from highly interactive discussions of shared sales experiences and challenges.”

“By partnering with NAPA and Sarah, we’re able to offer this important educational program to advisors dealing with uncertainty and regulatory change,” said John Moody, President, Matrix Financial Solutions. “We’re committed to making sure that today’s advisors are better equipped to be a stronger asset to their plan sponsors and ultimately win new business by capitalizing on opportunities within the industry.”

“Matrix has been a strong proponent of providing financial advisors with the tools they need to effectively manage their retirement plan business, noted Brian Graff, Executive Director of NAPA. “The partnership between Matrix and NAPA will ultimately result in better educated advisors, and ultimately that means better retirement outcomes for plan participants.”

Developed and supported by NAPA, the QPFC credential is the gold standard for financial professionals who sell, advise, market, or support qualified retirement plans.  The QPFC is designed for professionals with at least two to three years of retirement plan experience.
