ASPPA and Morningstar Announce 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award Finalists
Award Presented at The ASPPA 401(k) SUMMIT
The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), announced today the names of three finalists in the running for the 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award sponsored by Morningstar and ASPPA. The award recognizes the specific accomplishments by a leading financial advisor in the 401(k) marketplace.
Sponsored by Morningstar, Inc., a leading provider of independent investment research, and ASPPA, the leader in retirement education and advocacy— the award reflects the multi-faceted efforts of advisors to serve their clients (plan sponsors and participants), act as mentors, maintain high ethical standards, and innovate in the retirement industry. Within these criteria, finalists were also judged on how they employ this expertise to help working Americans build their retirement future through the private pension system.
The three 2011 finalists are Joe Connell, senior retirement plan consultant at Financial Concepts, Inc., in Minneapolis, Minn., Michael J. Malone, founder and managing director of MJM401k in Phoenix, Ariz., and Jim O’Shaughnessy, managing partner at Sheridan Road Financial in Northbrook, Ill.
One of these three finalists will receive the 2011 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award during a special session of The 2011 ASPPA 401(k) Summit on March 7 in Las Vegas, Nev. Finalists were selected from 100 nominations from their peers and colleagues in the retirement industry.
